What is the ceremony and reception film? The name here should be pretty straight forward. This is a longer film that includes the full length of the ceremony (procession to recession) as well as the main parts of the reception- the grand entrance, first dances, toasts, any other special event (Horah, boquet toss, etc,), cake cutting, and 20 minute montage of open dancing. You should expect high quality audio and steady, beautiful looking footage. It can be delivered digitally as a 60-90 minute film. It can also be uploaded or in the form of a privately shared Youtube playlist. Should I expect the same result if I go with the Hans Solo package? If the Ceremony and Reception Film is high on your priority I would most certainly suggest that you choose The Traditional package. The second shooter’s main role is to ensure the quality of the Ceremony and Reception Film. In a Traditional package the Ceremony and Reception Film will have 3 camera angles for the reception (back, groom side, bride side). The second shooter will be able to capture the action with medium to close up shots of the officiant, readers, musical performances, parents reactions, etc. The reception will have 2 camera angles, one for the bride and groom, the other on toasts, performances, reactions, etc. Here are what those camera angles look like. When you hire me (Hans) to shoot solo you can still purchase the Ceremony and Reception a la carte. However, without the help of a second shooter it would be difficult for me to manage capturing moments and also lugging around tripods and extra cameras all day, not to mention setup and break down. You can expect the same high quality audio and 1 camera angle (back) for the ceremony. The reception will also have 1 camera angle. Those camera angles will be locked down on a tripod, and I’ll do my best to periodically check on them. But please understand that I cannot guarantee that uncle Joe does not decide to move in front of that camera to film with his ipad.
What is a Doc Style Film The Doc Style Film is 10-12 minutes. It will feature background music as well as audio. You can expect the best moments of the entire wedding day, from prep, to first look, the best moments from the ceremony and reception. There will be more natural of dialogue from spontaneous moments during prep, groom's reaction to the first look, as well as sound bites from the ceremony and reception. For instance, emotional sound bites from the vows, and funny lines from the toasts. The style of the edit and song choices will be based on the theme of the day whether that’s emotional, romantic, happy, funny, ecstatic, etc.
